HUMANS are creatures of duality, survived by their ability to adapt and overcome to changes in their environment. ajax has a deep and genuine love for his plethora of siblings and his country , but in the same breath would kill hundreds if that's what the tsaritsa asked of him. ajax has a horrible habit of seeing himself as less of a person and more of a weapon for the fatui - for the tsaritsa herself. in his mind, it's okay if he's a bad person because the world he's fighting for - the world the tsaritsa has in mind , is one worth being a bad guy. nothing good ever happened by people sitting around doing nothing, after all.

DESPITE his efforts , he is the weakest of his line of older - bolder harbringers. constantly trying to prove his grit to his higher ups. he lacks emotional regulation - his time in the abyss during his adolescence changed something about him ... and it's not like the fatui has a psychologist.

CHILDE expresses his feelings like an animal backed into a corner, when he cant charm or fight his way out of something he instantly jumps towards little outbursts that might only get worse as time goes on. he doesnt like to admit it, but childe is far more emotionally driven than he'd like to think. not the oiled war machine he wants to believe he is. somewhere in there is this enormous , throbbing desire to be loved & seen. but because this love cannot seem to be earned. not in the eyes of his birth parents, nor the harbringers, or the traveller - he has decided he will be feared instead. the world that once abandoned him will tremble under the heel of his boot and his beautiful flawless queen.

CHILDE looks for purpose in the people that surround him. especially in the people who dare to care about him , despite his rough edges and shifty morals. loving him is awful work and theres a part of him that knows that. he needs people to survive and latches onto people strong and hard , wanting to be close in some primal way - untamed and full of teeth. his desire for closeness could swallow him whole.⤷ 2. BEING a warrior for the fatui and avid traveller means burning a LOT of calories -- ajax is an avid eater. plus he's not too particularly picky. back in his homeland, they mostly ate stew of whatever meat they could get that evening. waste not want not !⤷ 3. REALLY bad cute aggression. he spent a lot of his time in the snowy peaks of snezhnaya , and after that it was in the abyss and after that, he became the harbinger we all know and dubiously love. he hasn't really been exposed to too many cute things in his lifetime - every time he sees one it's like a neuron caught on fire. beware aether muses!

FOUL LEGACY is a separate being from CHILDE himself. similar to VENOM and EDDIE. they go back and forth in his brain a lot - fighting for control at any given moment. foul is less like a form he shifts into and more like a deal he made with the devil.⤷ 5. RUSSIAN ACCENT since genshin is too cowardly to add one themselves !! it's also just a smidge deeper , mostly given the prevalence of his accent. he's still childe though i prommy!

CHILDE in this verse is much akin to everyones favorite character MARCELINE - or more specifically her male counterpart. childe finds humans cute the same way we humans find animals cute and theres a big part of him that doesnt seem to understand the morality of the way he treats human beings. pinching and pulling their cheeks. snatching them off the streets and carrying them to one of his hideaways as a pet. trying to fit into human society like it's some kind of dress up game. humanity is all a really fun joke to him.

NERVES forged out of steel. in this universe , childe has not climbed up the ranks enough to be a habringer yet. for now, he stays in the fatui's armada as one of the more formidable opponents tevyat has ever seen. he has been tasked with the duty of guarding royalty and takes his job as being a knight seriously as a heart attack.
